While melee attacks are rolled based on Martial Combat modified by Strength, being dexterous also has some advantages. When making a melee attack, actions can be traded to increase the level of the attack roll by one. Regardless of how many actions are traded, an additional action is not required to actually execute the attack. Visually, this appears as a flurry of blows rather one powerful attack. However, while this trade improves the chances of hitting the target, the damage does not scale. The attack can only apply one set of damage.
Example: A level 2 character has a Strength Score of 1 (1d6) and a Dexterity Score of 2 (+1 Action), meaning this character has 3 actions for their turn. The character uses one action to move into Dagger melee range of an enemy and trades two actions to attack with a 1d6+1 (STR, Score of 2) rather than their typical Strength (1d6; Score of 1). The attack is successful, and the Dagger's 1d6 damage is applied (but only once) for this attack.
